If you somehow found yourself in charge of writing for "Litterbox Comics", what changes would you make to how it was written?

That's a good question! I think the easy answer is a genre shift. It would be much more interesting if this cat family was thrown into higher stakes (horror, sci-fi, apocalyptic) and then their bickering suddenly has more weight to it. It'd be hilarious if the world is ending and Momma Cat is still nagging Junior to wash his hands - that contrast would make for some great dark comedy. Or if Junior is bored by everything even as the world suddenly advances 5000 years thanks to alien tech?! Then that could launch into some more interesting character studies

I think more comics should experiment with genre shifts, but they're a risky move. And Litterbox is primarily made for casual consumption on Facebook/Reddit so, it might alienate some readers.

I think the more feasible answer would be lean into more surrealist moments, like the Halloween comic linked above. I'd also want to show less of the mom being stressed out - and try to show the attitude of "yeah I'm stressed but I love my kids" (that way the core of the character stays the same). Right now it's just way too much stress and not enough love for life!

You're too kind! If you feel inspired by any of my ideas and want to write something based on it, by all means, go for it!!

All right then, if and when I ever do write something along those lines, I'll let you know, OK?
