Sad to hear you got blocked lol I bet you brought a lot of genuine interest to the series even if you're critical. How close is Apple Black from being complete? The series is like 14 years in. Kinda ruins the emersion when series redo their stories, especially the beginning. For indie stuff where the creator started at a very different skill level I can understand if it happens once, especially if there's no major narrative changes and the art and writing is just polished up. But I've noticed when it happens more than once it's usually diminishing returns both for the audience and story itself. Definitely an issue if it's a product for purchase and you may prefer a previous version that'll become unavailable. I wonder if people in Whytt's creative circle have warned him why no major manga series take this direction. Anyways, glad to get another Tapir Tuesday!

I believe the current plan for Apple Black is to run between 20-25 volumes. They're currently at volume 5... so they've got a ways to go! I know Clock Striker and Massive Multiplayer World of Ghosts have also been rebooted, so Apple Black isn't the only one to get this treatment.

It's just strange it's happening now, when they just released the Quarto print version.

My only guess (big emphasis on guess!!!) is Quarto won't release volume 6 since volume 5 didn't sell so hot. So now Apple Black is going the self-publishing route... and redoing old volumes+releasing in color is a way to get people to re-buy the old voumes? Or maybe it's a way to make it "different" enough from the Quarto editions?

Not sure how it all shakes out legally but I'm glad Whyt isn't giving up. I have managed to get more people to read Apple Black and buy it, even if they're just doing it ironically. An ironic dollar's still a dollar! So hopefully not all of the hate-readers get banished from the patreon, but I know my block's deserved hahahaha.

Either way, always appreciate you commenting and stopping by, happy to hear from you!!
