350 Milestone Mission FAQ

This is an FAQ for the 350 Milestone Mission.

Summary of campaign: When "Tapir Tuesday" accumulates an extra $50 per month from premium subscriptions, paid subscribers will be rewarded with a 30-minute art request. When the monthly earnings reach $350, all subscribers, both paid and free, will be eligible to make a free art request. This request window will remain open for one month.

Additional bonus giveaways, relevant to the 350 Milestone Mission, will be available for both paid and free members. These giveaways will be posted at the end of every post until the $350 condition is met. The conditions for these giveaway will vary.

If certain bonus giveaways reach a "win" status, everyone on the paid tier is guaranteed a spot. However, even in these circumstances, there will always be a chance for someone on the free tier to win as well.

Please note this campaign and any participants are subject to the same Terms of Service (ToS) as any other art rewards. Users who breach the Terms of Service may face account suspension or banning, irrespective of their subscription or payment status.

1. My premium subscription is a yearly plan/bought with a coupon/purchased as a gift. Do I still qualify for 350 Milestone Mission rewards?

Yes. You are a paying customer, so you qualify for the art milestone rewards exclusive for the paid tier.

2. My premium subscription was a giveaway prize/referral reward. Do I qualify for the 350 Milestone Mission rewards?

No. You don't qualify for art milestone rewards because your premium subscription hasn't been paid for.

Normally, giveaway and paid premium subscriptions receive the same benefits. This giveaway campaign is the only exception where a paid premium subscription is treated differently from one obtained through a giveaway. The incremental art rewards are designed to acknowledge and reward individuals contributing to the $350/month goal.

3. Say you’re at $100/month, and I subscribe and bring you to $110/month. Do I get the $100 reward?

No, but you will get the reward sent when we hit $150. There’s no retroactive application for late rewards, this is about rewarding people who show up early.

However: Let’s pretend the monthly total is at $90. Two people subscribe at the same time and bring the monthly total to $110. As long as its within a day, I’ll give the monthly reward to everyone subscribed (because being off by a few hours would be a huge bummer).

There will be a bit of flexibility, but the moment I send out the rewards email for claiming a milestone reward, that marks the cutoff point.

4. Okay, but have you considered (insert rat move to game the system)

Yes, I have. The December giveaway brought out a lot of unscrupulous behavior, and I know more of it will show up in the future. This is why the ToS is as long as it is.

However, the overwhelming majority of the people who participated in the December giveaway were really cool, genuine people, excited about art.

So far, that’s been the vibe of everyone participating in the 350 Milestone Mission campaign. Most people who reach for their wallet to support small artists are generally doing it in good faith- so I don’t want to outline all of the little “gotchas” that someone could hypothetically pull during this campaign. Because hopefully - they won’t be necessary.

Before doing some wild, out-of-the box behavior, ask yourself:

  1. Will my actions slow the process for everyone involved?

  2. Is this potentially in violation of the ToS?

  3. Will this need to be addressed in a one-on-one email correspondence? (Replying to emails about business suggestions and/or wacky ideas is excruciating. Please see point 1.)

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these, don’t do it.

If anyone’s being a stinker they’ll be treated on a case-by-case basis, and my hoof will be ready to smash the giant red “Block” button during our interaction. So don’t be a stinker.Â
