Otaku Cafe: A new directory for otaku writers
It's an anime zine but online (but cooler than the ones you're thinking of)
Every time I find a new publication talking about otaku-related things, it’s exciting.
So I’m starting an otaku directory: the Otaku Cafe. This is to help Substack otaku writers connect with readers and each other.
The Otaku Cafe is now live and accepting blogs and submissions. If you have something you’d like shared on the Otaku Cafe, send it here:
*Your writing doesn’t need to be on Substack- if you want to repurpose a YouTube essay for us, that’s cool too.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
Anime and Manga Reviews
Original manga and animation
Editorials and Opinion Pieces
Creator/Voice Actor/Artist/Cosplayer Interviews
Event Coverage
Top Lists and Rankings
Behind-the-Scenes Content
Cosplay Features
Recommendation Corner
Community Spotlights
Merchandise Reviews
Japanese Culture Insights
Yes: You keep 100% of the rights to your work, and you’re welcome to share things you’ve posted elsewhere (There’s more fine print in the google form linked above, but those are the big ones).
This won’t affect Tapir Tuesday. Otaku Cafe will be its own separate thing I’m running. We start posting (ani)May 1st, and how often we post depends on how many submissions we get.
Hope to hear from you soon!
This is SUCH A COOL CONCEPT!
